Hamilton Room

KING #1 - SECOND FLOOR

The Hamilton Room is named after the owner of our historical mansion, Hamilton Louis Hoppin, who constructed the residence in 1856 as a summer home for his family.  The spacious suite is adorned with the original heart pine floors and was recently renovated and expanded with an oversized private bathroom.



The room features a king bed with soft luxurious bedding to guarantee a restful sleep.  The Hamilton room has a private bathroom with walk in shower. Amenities include a coffee pot, wine glasses and corkscrew, individually controlled heat and A/C, free Wi-fi and TV.

Gardiner Room

KING #2 - SECOND FLOOR

The Gardiner Room is named after one of the original settlers to the Newport/Middletown area, George Gardiner. You can now visit the beautiful pond that bears his name at the Norman bird sanctuary in Middletown.


The Gardiner room has a private bathroom with a shower to wash the stress away. Amenities include a coffee pot, wine glasses and corkscrew, individually controlled heat and A/C, free Wi-fi and TV.

Aquidneck Room

KING #3 - SECOND FLOOR

The Aquidneck Room is named for Aquidneck Island which is home to Middletown and Newport and was once called "The Isle of Peace" by the Narragansett Indian Tribe. The room, which has been recently renovated, wraps you in the nautical feeling of the island's atmosphere with soft tones of blue, but still maintains the look and feel of the 19th Century.


The room features King bed with soft luxurious bedding to guarantee a restful sleep. The Aquidneck Room also has a gas fireplace to enhance the atmosphere of your romantic getaway. The room has a private bathroom with a shower to wash the stress away. Amenities include a coffee pot, wine glasses and corkscrew, individually controlled heat and A/C, free Wi-fi and TV.

Prescott Room

KING #4 - SECOND FLOOR

The Prescott Room is named for a former 40-acre farm in Middletown, RI and is now a historic preservation. Prescott Farms was named for the British General Richard Prescott and was saved by Doris Duke and the Newport Restoration Foundation in 1973. This stately room is decorated with soft green tones to honor the little piece of nature that it represents.

Restmere Room

KING #5 - THIRD FLOOR

The Restmere Room is named after our twin mansion, which is located down the road. Built in 1856, the twin mansions were designed by the highly regarded architect, Richard Upjohn and were the first Italianate-Stick Style mansions of its time. It is now a private residence owned by noted architect John Grosvenor.


The room features a comfortable King bed with soft luxurious bedding to guarantee a restful sleep. The Restmere room has a private bathroom with a shower and has a free-standing tub to soak the stress away. Amenities include a coffee pot, wine glasses and corkscrew, individually controlled heat and A/C, free Wi-Fi and TV.

Berkeley Room

KING #6 - THIRD FLOOR

The Berkeley Room was named after one of the most prominent philosophers of the 18th century, the great Irish philosopher and Anglican clergyman George Berkeley. Whitehall, as Berkeley called his Middletown home, was built from an existing structure on a plot of farmland a few miles from Newport. Whitehall became a meeting place for the intellectual minds of New England. George Berkeley’s Whitehall home, now a museum in Middletown represents the style of houses of the 18th century and is known as the place where philosophy came to, and influenced, a new growing country.

The Easton Room was named after one of the first founders of Newport in the 17th century, Nicolas Easton. Easton Beach is the largest of the island's beaches in Newport and features a 3/4 mile stretch of sand, ocean and scenic beauty. The Easton Room represents the oceanic feel of our popular beach with beautiful blue accents.


The room features a comfortable Queen bed with soft luxurious bedding to guarantee a restful sleep. The Easton Room has a gas fireplace to enhance the atmosphere of your romantic getaway.
